Fresh out of university Phil began working at one of the UK’s leading recruitment providers. As a consultant the challenge was to build a successful career. To date Phil has experienced great success. Having worked with many of the country’s elite engineers and employers, he quickly established himself as an expert in his field. Recognised as a future leader, Phil rose through the corporate ranks and experienced leading a large team of consultants. His team spanned both the Rail and Buildings industry sectors achieving rapid growth culminating in receiving the coveted “Leader of the year” award in 2015. Challenge complete? More like just beginning…. Having always been passionate about business, the next challenge was always going to be to build his own company. In particular there was a huge desire to bring something to the recruitment sector which was different. Most recruitment businesses are volume driven, working with every client they can gain access to, which ultimately reduces quality. What if there was a recruiter who only worked with exclusive candidates at an elite level and partnered with like minded clients? Phil believes that in Greystone there is, his vision has built a successful business, seen as a genuine partner by our clients and a trusted advisor by our members allowing both parties to focus on the engineering.
Simon Wilson is an award winning, highly skilled recruitment specialist with almost 20 years of experience in the engineering sector. What distinguishes him from others in his field of expertise is his ability to add value & grow successful businesses across multiple industries, most notably, Highways & Transportation, Nuclear defence and Energy. Simon’s recruitment career started in 2002 working for a large Corporate agency, Matchtech, where he built a strong reputation and network of talented individuals, many of whom he still works with on a personal level to this day. Loyal for 14 years, Simon spent many happy years being responsible for leading the organisations largest, most profitable and fastest growing areas. So why give it all up you might ask? We live in a generation of job boards, LinkedIn databases, inexperienced recruiters all underpinned by a “transactional culture”. As Co-Founder and Director at Greystone, Simon had a vision of what recruitment should be. A truly service driven experience for the candidate (or as we like to call them, members) where they are at the heart of everything we do. Leaving the heights of the Corporate world has allowed Simon to return to what is most important, the members, where he believes that in ensuring they get the quality of service they would expect, our company benefits from relationships that last a lifetime.
John Coldicott is the newest member to the Greystone board, having previously worked alongside Simon and Phil joining Greystone was like a home coming. John brings with him a wealth of Highways and Transportation knowledge having worked in the sector for 6 years prior to joining Greystone, John like all Greystone employees is passionate about recruiting only the very best engineers in the Highways sector and delivering an exceptional service to our Greystone Members. Having carved out a reputation for being one the best recruiters in Highways and Transportation sector, John went on to have a fast-tracked corporate career where he had many unique successes. These included breaking every sales record in existence and becoming the only consultant in history to win “Sales Newcomer of the Year Award” followed by “Overall Sales Consultant of the Year Award” the following year. John’s success is down to his desire to go above and beyond for clients and candidates another reason why he will be such a driving force within our organisation. Service and experience are paramount and a genuine quality over quantity model is applied to ensure excellent results are a certainty for the Greystone Highway Community.
